Yacht Club Santo Amaro is a sailing club offering sailing activities, a sailing school, competitions, and nautical facilities. See YCSA.

O Yacht Club Santo Amaro foi fundado em 8 de agosto de 1930 com o nome de "Deutscher Segel-Club". Em 1938 ocorreu mudança de nome por leis do Estado Novo. Desde 2016, seu Comodoro é o Sr. Christian Hellner. More details are available on Wikipedia.

Training and sailing school

A Escola de Vela YCSA offers nautical training with classes for children, youth, and adults, including practical and theoretical lessons using boats owned by the school. Further details are on the YCSA sailing school page.

Programs include Vivência Náutica (ages 4–6), Optimist (Nível 1 from age 8, and Nível 2 from age 8 years and 6 months), and Iniciação à Vela.

Courses have a total of 17 lessons covering theory, practice, and recreation. The schedule lists class start dates of 20, 21, and 22/02/2026, with classes having a minimum of 4 students.

Prices differ for members and non-members, and there is a matrícula (enrollment) fee of R$ 55,00.

Club facilities and on-site infrastructure

The club has a restaurant with views of the Guarapiranga reservoir (La Vieira’s), a climate-controlled leisure hall for gatherings and games, and a multi-sport court for volleyball, basketball, and futsal. It also has spaces for events and space rental, along with nautical infrastructure and leisure areas along the Guarapiranga. See YCSA.

Nautical facilities, boatyard, and maintenance

The club offers full on-site nautical workshop and boatyard infrastructure, including covered hangars (Hangar I and II), a covered boat storage area (guardaria), a paved yard, and a 25 m wide low-incline ramp. It also includes a tractor and winch(es)/guincho, a crane for lifting, a mast maintenance tower, and boat workshops/office plus launching support boats/botes for training and operations. Accommodation

YCSA offers 7 accommodation rooms with a total capacity of up to 60 people. Accommodation rates (table 2026) are listed as R$ 43.00 per person per day for YCSA members and affiliated guests, and R$ 83.00 per person per day for non-members. See accommodation details.

There are also 6 suite-style apartments (two single beds). Apartment rates for 2 people per day (table 2026) are R$ 164.00 for YCSA members and affiliated guests, and R$ 245.00 for non-members. Apartments include bed and bath linens and a pillow, while accommodation does not include meals.

Operating schedule

The club operates year-round. Published club hours are Tue–Fri 08:00–18:00 and Sat–Sun/holidays 09:30–17:00. Sailing school and event calendars are run by semester/season, with regattas and social activities scheduled throughout the year. See YCSA.
