Once you join Affinet, the first thing we do is build your listing from records you supply to us.
For each club on your list we find out:
- how your members can contact the club to arrange a visit
- relevant links for news, events, main website
- social listings such as Facebook and Instagram
We then get data from factual sources such as the club's website and Wikipedia and put everything together into our canonical profile, which is the building block of our service.
Every reciprocal listing in Affinet is built on a canonical foundation.
That canonical record belongs to Affinet and acts as the structured factual base for every club in our database. It gives the platform a stable, consistent source of truth that does not depend on how much effort an individual club puts into its marketing copy.
Clubs are still free to write their own promotional profile for display within the reciprocal listing. That allows them to present themselves in their own voice, highlight the atmosphere of the club, and shape how they want to be seen by visiting members.

But that promotional layer always sits on top of, and links back to, the Affinet canonical.
Promotional copy has its place, but it can only go so far. It is often selective and written mainly to present the club attractively. The Affinet canonical page is different. It is designed as a factual resource, refreshed four times a year, and able to provide a broader and more practical picture than a short club-written profile alone.
This means Affinet gives clubs the best of both worlds. They can present themselves in their own voice through a promotional profile, while every listing still benefits from a deeper canonical layer maintained by the platform itself.
The result is a better experience for everyone. Clubs keep flexibility in how they present themselves, but members also get the depth, consistency, and regularly refreshed factual detail that actually helps them arrange a trip with confidence.
