Yacht Club Punta Del Este

The Yacht Club Punta del Este (YCPE) is a nautical/yacht club located in Punta del Este, Uruguay. It focuses on sailing and yacht racing, serving as a local center for boating activity. The club was founded on 14 February 1924, with its first president being José Eustaquio Guerra. The current clubhouse was built in 1946, with expansions noted in 1980 and 1985. Facilities

The main clubhouse is situated at the corner of Calle 10 and Calle 13 in Punta del Este. In addition to the clubhouse, the club features an annex building called Edificio Yateste. The club's boatyard facilities are located in the port area of Punta del Este, providing services such as a travelift for haul-out and launch, shore power, potable water, fuel, and onshore storage capacity. Moorings and Anchorage

The Port of Punta del Este offers a large berthing capacity, with a mix of wall and buoy moorings. The port's berth capacity is reported to be in the hundreds, approximately between 490 and 538 berths, with a general depth and allowable draft of around 3 meters. Further details can be found here.

Racing

YCPE has organized and hosted major international regattas, including the Snipe World Championships in 1975 and 2001, Vaurien in 2004, Women's Snipe in 2006, and Soling in 2014. The club currently co-organizes the Circuito Atlántico Sur / Rolex Cup in collaboration with Yacht Club Olivos, Yacht Club Argentino, and Yacht Club Uruguayo.
