Guest Information

The athletic and squash guest policy requires guests to check in, sign a waiver, and pay a guest fee of $25 per visit. Individual guests are limited to no more than two visits per month and six visits per year, and reciprocal members also pay guest fees when using the athletic facility. History

The club was founded in 1890 by William Thomas. The original clubhouse at 722 Sutter Street was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. The club purchased the 800 Powell Street site and opened the current Bliss & Faville-designed clubhouse in 1909. The library was established in 1917, and the club purchased the clubhouse in 1962. The club began admitting women in 1988, and the UClub Foundation was established in 2023 to support education and related charitable activities. More information is available on their history page.
