Founded around 1922 under the patronage of Maharaja Umaid Singh of Jodhpur, this long-established family and sports club occupies its present premises since about 1960 and is registered under the Rajasthan Societies Act.

Initially small with around 22 members, it received land from the Maharaja and is registered under the Rajasthan Societies Act, 1958.
