The Yale Club of New York City is a private alumni clubhouse whose primary purpose is to provide a centralized home for Yale alumni, faculty, students, and affiliated clubs in Manhattan that fosters community, intellectual engagement, social connection, and the preservation of a historic clubhouse for members and the University. History

Founded from the Yale Alumni Association of New York City and incorporated on May 26, 1897, the Club moved through early clubhouses before opening the current James Gamble Rogers–designed 22-story clubhouse at 50 Vanderbilt Avenue in 1915. Historically, it has evolved from a men-only institution to a modern, coeducational alumni club and remains the largest college clubhouse in existence. For further details, visit here.

Membership

Eligibility includes Yale degree holders, full-time Yale graduate students, and full-time Yale faculty. Applications are processed through Member Services, and accepted applicants pay an initiation fee, monthly dues, and a capital commitment online. The Club also offers time-limited/summer memberships and an undergraduate membership program. More information on membership can be found here.

Facilities

The 22-story clubhouse at 50 Vanderbilt Ave. contains multiple dining rooms and bars, private event and banquet spaces, 138 overnight guest rooms, a library with approximately 34,000 circulating volumes, a fitness and squash center, a plunge/swimming pool, and member services. Guest Information
