The Women's Club

A women's club offering meeting spaces, dining, events, networking, accommodation, and business services since 1901.

Founded on 9 October 1901 to provide a meeting place and intellectual community for women, The Women’s Club has been based at 179 Elizabeth Street overlooking Hyde Park since 1992.

It offers 24/7 member access to club rooms and lounges, a private dining room managed with Trippas White Group, meeting and co‑working spaces, and a member residence called The Residence with ensuite rooms.

The Club runs regular cultural and networking programs—lectures, Circles of Interest, monthly lunches and the Rose Scott Women Writers Festival—and publishes membership categories, fees and sponsor requirements online.

About

The Women’s Club was founded on 9 October 1901 by a group of more than 100 women at The Women’s College to provide a meeting place and intellectual community for women. The Club moved through several premises in the early 20th century and has been located at 179 Elizabeth Street (overlooking Hyde Park) since 1992. Facilities

The Club offers various facilities including club rooms and lounges with 24/7 member access, a private dining room overlooking Hyde Park, and a member residence known as 'The Residence' with ensuite rooms. Additional amenities include meeting and co-working spaces with high-speed Wi-Fi, complimentary pantry breakfast, tea and coffee, shared laundry and kitchen, swipe-card entry, mini bar in the sitting room/pantry, and on-site parking (where available). Dining

The on-site dining room, which overlooks Hyde Park, offers seasonal menus and special monthly events. Dining operations are managed in partnership with Trippas White Group, and the Club is fully licensed with a selection of beverages available. The Club hosts a regular program of member and public events including lectures, Circles of Interest, the Monthly Club Lunch, Salon Series, Women in Music, and Women in Wine programs, as well as the annual Rose Scott Women Writers Festival. Membership

Membership categories and fees are published on the Club's website. Categories include Junior (one-time entrance $660; annual $750), Member (metro) (one-time entrance $2,000; annual $1,600), and Member (country) (one-time entrance $2,000; annual $1,315). The applicant membership period requires three sponsors for election, and applicant benefits are described on the membership pages, which can be accessed here.

Networking Opportunities

The Club provides formal and informal networking through member lectures, Circles of Interest, cultural programs, and recurring member events. Access to an affiliate club network (domestic and international) offers additional reciprocal connections. More information can be found here.

Accommodation

The Residence offers member accommodation with king and twin ensembles featuring ensuite marble bathrooms, air conditioning, TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, pantry breakfast, tea/coffee, mini bar access, and swipe-card entry. Check-in is at 2:00 pm and check-out is at 10:00 am. Accommodation is available for members, members' guests, and members of affiliated clubs.
