The Riverine Club

The Riverine Club is a private members’ club housed in a historic building dating to 1861 with origins tracing to the 1880s.

It provides multiple indoor function and meeting rooms, a Members Bar, a restaurant seating about 40, onsite commercial kitchen and AV facilities, plus 13 period guest rooms (some with river views).

The club runs a regular events calendar and stages themed and memorial dinners, offers venue hire for up to ~150 seated (250 cocktail) with catering and corporate meeting services, and maintains extensive membership categories and reciprocal club arrangements.

Club History

The club traces its origins to the 1880s. The present building was previously Wagga’s National School, erected in 1861. The site’s history and later uses are described on the club’s History page.

Facilities

The club features multiple indoor function and meeting rooms, including the Lantern Room, Reading Room/boardroom, and Alcove. Additional facilities include a Members Bar, a restaurant, a private courtyard, a colonnade veranda, an onsite commercial kitchen, AV and presentation equipment, and 13 guest rooms on the first floor. Dining Facilities

The club has a recently refurbished restaurant with seating for approximately 40 guests, which opens onto the colonnade veranda. Member Accommodation

The club offers thirteen period guest rooms on the first floor, some with balcony river views. There are two shared bathrooms, a sitting room, and a breakfast room. Accommodation is available to members, reciprocal members, and guests, with continental breakfast on request and discounted rates for extended or group stays. Events Calendar

The club publishes a regular events calendar featuring both recurring and one-off events. The club offers conference and corporate meeting facilities, including a boardroom that seats 16 and can be configured for approximately 30 in theatre style. Membership Options

The club offers a range of membership categories, including Individual, Family Partner, Junior Professional (19–34), Young Professional (35–44), Senior (70+), Distant (residents over 80 km away), Family, Corporate, and Honorary Membership. Dress Code

The club's dress code requires neat, tidy attire. Gentlemen are expected to wear collared shirts, long trousers or dress shorts, and enclosed dress shoes. Ladies should wear a dress or blouse with a skirt or tailored slacks. Sporting clothing, T-shirts, track suits, sports footwear, and thongs/beach sandals are not acceptable. Venue Hire

Function and meeting spaces are available for hire for private and corporate events. The club can accommodate up to about 150 guests seated and up to 250 for cocktail events.
