Founded in 1888 by actor Edwin Booth, The Players occupies an 1847 mansion at 16 Gramercy Park South that is a National Historic Landmark and houses extensive theatrical memorabilia including Booth’s preserved suite.

The Club provides historic member spaces—the Great Hall, Dining Room with a small stage, Grill, library and private meeting rooms—plus on-site food and beverage service and facilities for conferences and private events.

It runs regular member programming (readings, performances, concerts, film screenings and signature events), offers networking with artists and reciprocal privileges for voting members, and admits candidates via a Membership Inquiry; dress is neat smart casual.

About

Founded in 1888 by actor Edwin Booth and 15 incorporators, The Players occupies a mansion built in 1847 at 16 Gramercy Park South. Booth deeded the house to the Club on opening night (December 31, 1888). Club Facilities

The Players features a historic clubhouse with multiple member spaces including the Great Hall, the main Dining Room, the Grill, the Kinstler Room, the Alcove, the Balcony, the Hampden-Booth Library, the Card Room, the Burman Room, and the Booth Room. Dining Facilities

The Club operates a Grill and a main Dining Room that includes a small stage for performances. There are also multiple private dining and meeting rooms, supported by on-site kitchen facilities. More details are available on the dining facilities page.

Food and Drink

On-site member dining and bar service includes the Grill and the main Dining Room, with Member Dining available from Tuesday to Saturday and a Happy Hour from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Club has an in-house food and beverage team for member meals and private events. Events Calendar
