The Faculty Club

About

The Faculty Club at the University of Toronto is a private members' club and on-campus social centre that brings together current and retired faculty and staff, graduate students, alumni, and community patrons to foster community, conversation, dining, and events in a historic Georgian-Revival building on the St. George campus. Events

The Club runs recurring member events and programmed activities including wine nights, speaker series, book launches, cooking classes, pub nights, themed/feature menus, music and cultural events. It also hosts private and corporate events, conferences, weddings, receptions, and offers seasonal event packages and tailored event services. Details can be accessed here.

Programs

The Club supports professional development and networking through its programmed events, member social events, and occasional career-oriented seminars. Membership

The Faculty Club offers multiple membership categories, including Voting Member for current/retired faculty and alumni, various Patron categories, Graduate Student & Recent Alumni, Retiree, Community Patron, and Corporate Patron. Eligibility

Eligibility categories include currently employed University of Toronto faculty or appointed staff, retired faculty/staff, University of Toronto alumni, graduate students, recent alumni, and various patron categories. Specific rules regarding eligibility are listed on the membership page.

Reciprocal Clubs

Membership provides worldwide reciprocal club privileges, granting access to the facilities of more than 200 clubs globally. The Club is a member of the International Associate Clubs (IAC) network, allowing members to access this partner network at no additional cost. More information can be found here.

Facilities

The Club occupies a historic Georgian-Revival building at 41 Willcocks Street and offers multiple event and member spaces, including the Fairley Lounge, Main Lounge, Upper Dining Room, Primrose Room, Foulds Dining Room, The Pub, and a west-side Patio. Dining Options

The Faculty Club operates a full professional kitchen under an Executive Chef. Members have access to a seasonal a la carte menu, weekly spotlight/theme plates, a selection of Ontario craft beers, and a curated wine list. History

The building at 41 Willcocks was redesigned in the 1920s into its current Georgian-Revival form for the Primrose Club. The University acquired the building in 1959, and the Faculty Club opened in 1960. The site includes a detailed timeline of its history, including significant events and changes.
