The Arbutus Club

History

The club was founded following planning that began in 1958 and opened to members in 1965. It traces its origins to Mrs. E.V. 'Billie' Mitchell, who purchased the current site in 1962. The club opened as The Arbutus Club in 1964/1965 and has expanded several times, with notable expansions occurring in 1969, 1977, 1985, 2008, and a 2020 infrastructure improvement project.
