Club History

The Club was founded in 1948, and its history is documented on its site. In 2015, the Club embarked on a major redevelopment, reported as a US$65 million project, which replaced the Scotts Road building and upgraded the Claymore Hill clubhouse and Sports Complex. Club Facilities

The Club features a 120,000 sq ft clubhouse located at 10 Claymore Hill, which includes multiple dining outlets, the Galbraith Ballroom event space, sên Spa, Thinkspace (Business Centre and Adult & Children’s Library), Essentials convenience store, gym and group-fitness studios, Aquatic Centre, tennis and squash courts, a bowling alley, and a dedicated youth facility known as The Quad/The Quad Studios. Additionally, there is an on-site wine and gourmet retail outlet called The Gourmet Pantry.

Dining Facilities

The Club offers multiple on-site food and beverage outlets, including Central (café), Grillhouse (poolside American BBQ/pizza), The 2nd Floor (fine dining), Tradewinds (buffet), Union Bar (sports bar), and The Gourmet Pantry (wine/gourmet retail). Each outlet has posted operating hours and contact details. Reservations and event bookings are handled directly by the respective outlets or the Club’s catering/events team.

Dress Code

The Club's published Club Policies outline dress code rules. The 2nd Floor enforces a smart-casual dress code, which requires men's shirts with sleeves and collars, while no ties are required. Overly faded or ripped jeans, shorts, and slippers are not permitted. Additionally, muscle T-shirts are not allowed in Tradewinds and Union Bar, and swimwear is restricted to pool areas.

Networking Opportunities

Networking and professional/social connections are facilitated through the Club’s events programme, which includes the Speaker Series, business-oriented talks, and member socials. There are also niche membership groups, meeting spaces in the Thinkspace Business Centre, libraries, and concierge support for introductions and reciprocal club access when traveling.

Business Services

Thinkspace houses the Business Centre and libraries. The Club provides meeting-room reservations, in-house Graphic Services, concierge and Membership Office support, as well as Events & Catering for corporate functions.

Leisure Activities

The Club offers a variety of leisure programmes, including aquatics (pool sessions and specialized classes such as deep water running), gym and group fitness classes, Pilates, social sports (squash, tennis), seasonal lifestyle classes, and family/youth programmes (camps and The Quad Studios). Spa services and an active arts programme are also available.

Sports Facilities

The Club's sports facilities include an Aquatic Centre, a gym, floodlit tennis courts, squash courts, and a bowling alley. A Sports Counter manages bookings and section activities, and the site organizes sports events and socials for squash, tennis, and aquatics.

Membership Options

The Club provides various membership categories, including Visiting Membership, Sampler Membership, Corporate Membership, Junior Membership, and Individual Membership. There is also an Associate Membership category for Singapore residents who do not qualify for Ordinary Membership.

Venue Hire
