Club History

The Club was founded in 1948, and its history is documented on its site. In 2015, the Club embarked on a major redevelopment, reported as a US$65 million project, which replaced the Scotts Road building and upgraded the Claymore Hill clubhouse and Sports Complex. Dress Code

The Club's published Club Policies outline dress code rules. The 2nd Floor enforces a smart-casual dress code, which requires men's shirts with sleeves and collars, while no ties are required. Overly faded or ripped jeans, shorts, and slippers are not permitted. Additionally, muscle T-shirts are not allowed in Tradewinds and Union Bar, and swimwear is restricted to pool areas.

Networking and professional/social connections are facilitated through the Club’s events programme, which includes the Speaker Series, business-oriented talks, and member socials. There are also niche membership groups, meeting spaces in the Thinkspace Business Centre, libraries, and concierge support for introductions and reciprocal club access when traveling.

Thinkspace houses the Business Centre and libraries. The Club provides meeting-room reservations, in-house Graphic Services, concierge and Membership Office support, as well as Events & Catering for corporate functions.
