Southern Trace Country Club

Club History

Founded as a private country club serving south Shreveport, the course opened in 1988. The 18-hole championship course was originally designed by Arthur Hills and was remodeled under Jim Lipe in 2020. The club converted to an equity, member-owned model around 2020 and has hosted professional and amateur events including the PGA Web.com/Ben Hogan-era Shreveport Open. Social Activities

The club offers a year-round member social calendar that includes dining and nightlife programming, such as live music at Arthur’s and trivia nights. Members can participate in tournaments and pairings parties, including the Trace Cup and Azalea Cup, as well as holiday pool events and other clubhouse social events. Recreational Amenities

The club features a resort-style pool complex with a lap pool, a 12-foot deep end with slides, and a covered wading pool for children. Additionally, there are two fitness gyms equipped for group fitness and personal training, an extensive golf practice facility and driving range, locker rooms, multiple clubhouse dining venues, and a racquets complex that includes tennis and pickleball facilities. Sport Facilities

The club offers an 18-hole championship golf course along with a large practice facility and driving range. There are seven lighted tennis courts and four dedicated pickleball courts, as well as racquets lessons and clinics. The Olympic-style pool provides both lap and recreational swimming facilities, and there are organized swim teams and swim lessons available. Golf Facilities

The championship 18-hole course, originally designed by Arthur Hills and remodeled by Jim Lipe in 2020, features an expanded practice facility of approximately 70,000 square feet. Fitness Centers

There are two on-site gyms, including an equipment gym and an open gym, which offer group fitness classes such as yoga, strength, and cardio, as well as private training and specialty programs under a Fitness Director. The club features multiple clubhouse dining venues, including Arthur’s Bar & Grill, which has a bar, TVs, and patios overlooking Hole #1. Recent renovations have introduced distinct dining spaces such as Franklin’s, The Magnolia, The Terrace, and The Board Room, offering rotating menus and special dining events. The Trace Kids program is included with memberships and features kid-friendly pool amenities such as a wading pool and slides. Access to the club is governed by published membership categories, each with specific initiation fees and monthly dues.
