The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club traces its origins to 19th-century Hong Kong boating organisations, was granted the "Royal" warrant in 1894, and maintains archives and a history project.

History
RHKYC traces its roots to mid-19th century Hong Kong yacht and regatta organisations, including the Victoria Regatta Club and Hong Kong Boating Club. It formed the Hong Kong Corinthian Sailing Club in 1889 and was granted the 'Royal' warrant in 1894. The Club moved to Kellett Island in 1938/40 and retains an extensive archive and history project documenting its evolution, including changes to membership policies over the 20th century. Sailing Activities
RHKYC runs a full programme across dinghy sailing, youth and junior training, keelboat and big-boat offshore racing (including the Rolex China Sea Race and Hong Kong–Vietnam race), team racing, and class racing (Optimist, 29er, ILCA, RS Feva and other one-designs). Moorage Options
Shelter Cove (Sai Kung) provides a marina with walk-on berths and club moorings, featuring 150 moorings and a marina of 46 berths, which currently has a waiting list. Outstation Facilities
The Club operates outstation locations, including the Middle Island Water Sports Training Centre, which features a dinghy fleet, changing rooms, and training facilities. Access Policy

Seasonal Operations
The Club’s harbour racing season primarily runs from September to June, with additional summer activities. Shore-based and on-water training is scheduled around school holidays, with summer courses from June to August and Easter/Christmas programmes.
