Pensacola Yacht Club

About

The Pensacola Yacht Club is a private members' yacht club focused on sailing and motorboating, offering organized navigation, safety and recreational water activities, competitive sailing, and social sailing events. The club also provides junior sailing and youth programs.

Chartered in 1908 as the Pensacola Yacht and Motor Boat Club, it was later renamed Pensacola Yacht Club. The club moved to its current waterfront site at the mouth of Bayou Chico in the late 1940s and has a century-long history marked by facility expansions, hurricane repairs, and hosting regional, national, and international regattas.

Accommodation

On-site amenities include a full-service restaurant and bar, banquet and meeting rooms, a private beach, swimming pool, event dressing rooms, and catering services. There is no overnight lodging available.

Boatyard Facilities

The marina accommodates boats up to about 70 feet and has been rebuilt and enlarged over time. It offers ample dry storage for trailerable boats, a power hoist, and a launching ramp.

Moorings and Anchorage

The club marina provides wet slips for members and reciprocal visitors, accommodating vessels up to approximately 70 feet. The dockmaster is on site with posted hours, and the first 24 hours of visitor dockage is free, with longer stays charged per foot per day.

Clubhouse Features

The historic waterfront clubhouse features dining rooms, a bar, ballrooms, meeting rooms, a ship store, a swimming pool, tennis courts, showers, and event spaces with full banquet and catering support.

Training Programs

The club operates a Junior Sailing program and a Summer Sailing Camp that offer youth sailing instruction and coaching. The Satori Foundation, a club-affiliated nonprofit, supports junior sailing and youth outreach initiatives.

Racing

There is an active racing program that includes Gulf Yachting Association one-design events, local and offshore racing, and hosting national and international regattas. Club members have achieved multiple titles in GYA and national competitions.

Cruising

The club organizes cruises, raft-ups, rendezvous, predicted log races, boat parades, and fishing tournaments. Members have completed extensive passages, including the Great Loop and ocean crossings.

Social Activities

Year-round social programming includes banquets, member parties, weddings, private events, and community volunteer support through the Satori Foundation. Family-oriented activities and prospective member gatherings are also part of the club's offerings.

Dress Code

Casual dress is acceptable except for party nights. Shirts and shoes are required inside the clubhouse, and bathing suits are not allowed in the bar and dining areas.

Seasonal Operation

The club and marina operate year-round, with published office, dining, bar, and dockmaster hours. There is no seasonal closure indicated, although dockage availability may be limited and is managed by the dockmaster.
