Penn Club of New York

About

The Penn Club of New York is a private alumni club affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania that provides a "home away from home" in midtown Manhattan. Its primary goals are to foster lasting friendships and community among Penn alumni, students, faculty, and affiliated schools, to provide clubhouse facilities and services, and to offer intellectual, professional, social, and cultural programming that supports members personally and professionally. Events

The Club runs a wide events calendar including business forums, industry panel discussions, career-development and self-improvement lectures, networking events, book-club luncheons, food and beverage tastings, culinary events, Broadway dinner + ticket packages, walking and gallery tours, and inter-club (All-Ivy) networking with neighboring university clubs. Programs

Programs are organized around intellectual, professional, social, and cultural topics, explicitly including career-development programming, industry panels, and business forums. Member Experience

Members receive access to the landmark 14-story clubhouse and its amenities, including two restaurants, bars, formal dining rooms, 39 overnight guest rooms at member rates, the Benjamin Franklin library room, a Business Center, the Palestra Fitness Center (with yoga and massage services), meeting and banquet spaces, and a members-only website/app. Member perks include discounted stays, complimentary benefits for overnight guests, two large member parties yearly, and regular social and networking programming. Membership

Membership is individual and open to those 21+ who qualify. Categories include Resident, Suburban, Nonresident, and International. Applications require a completed membership application and payment of applicable initiation fee and annual dues, which are calculated based on age and residence/work location. Eligibility

Eligible applicants include University of Pennsylvania graduates, current full-time Penn students (21+), immediate family of qualified Penn alumni/students, full-time Penn faculty/staff, Wharton Executive Education graduates, University board/committee members, graduates of affiliate schools in good standing, past members in good standing, and approved associate/affiliate candidates. Reciprocal Clubs

The Penn Club participates in a network of reciprocal clubs, which includes over 180 domestic and international clubs. Members may visit and use reciprocal club facilities subject to each club's rules. Further details can be found on the reciprocal clubs page.

Facilities

Facilities at the 14-story clubhouse include two formal dining rooms, the Grill Room and bar, 39 themed overnight guest rooms, the Benjamin Franklin Library Room, a Business Center with conference room, the Palestra Fitness Center, and multiple meeting and banquet rooms. Dining Options

Dining options include the Main Dining Room for formal meals and private events, and the Grill Room for casual dining and a bar. Guest Information

Only members, their sponsored guests, and authorized reciprocal-club members may access the clubhouse and reserve overnight rooms. History

The Penn Club traces its New York alumni organization to 1886 and was incorporated as a club in 1900. After several relocations, it moved into its current landmark building in 1994.
