Summer sailing program for youth

The Long Beach Yacht Club Summer Sailing Program is a six-week summer program for youth ages 5–18 that welcomes all skill levels. It runs Monday through Friday and focuses on fun, safety, and skill development (see summer sailing program).

Dress code in the clubhouse

Smart, neat casual attire is the minimum standard within the Clubhouse. In the designated Dining Area (“Yacht Club Casual”), collared shirts and blouses and long pants, dresses, and skirts are required after 5pm; a jacket is optional; and dress shorts are permitted May 1–October 31 (see dress code).

In the lounge/bar, sailing attire is permitted, including hats, visors, or caps; swimwear or tank tops are not permitted. Hats, visors, or caps may not be worn within the indoor Designated Dining Area at any time (see designated areas).

Bathing suits are not permitted in the Clubhouse except in locker rooms, and footwear must always be worn. Items never permitted include tank tops, cut-offs, wetsuits, foul weather gear, soiled working clothing, or wet clothing (see what’s not permitted).

Pool hours and seasonal operation

The swimming pool is available year-round. Extended staffed hours and specific lifeguard coverage apply between Memorial Day and Labor Day: pool open 7:00 am–7:00 pm between Memorial Day and Labor Day, with lifeguards weekdays noon–5:00 pm and weekends/holidays 10:00 am–5:00 pm; the pool is closed on Mondays (see pool hours).
