The Karrakatta Club, founded in 1894 with Edith Dircksey Cowan as an early founding member, is one of Australia’s earliest women’s clubs and has been affiliated with the International Association of Lyceum Clubs since 1920.
Based in ANZAC House on St Georges Terrace, it offers a dining room with balcony views, the Edith Cowan Room/library, meeting and lecture spaces, weekly Lyceum presentations, Circles of Interest (Art, Books, Bridge, Gardening, Mah Jong, Movies, French) and a public events program.
