About

The False Creek Yacht Club (FCYC) is a private yacht club that provides moorage and marina services for both power and sailing vessels. The club features a waterside clubhouse that offers dining and social programs, organized cruising and racing events, as well as recreational watersports such as kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. FCYC was formed on July 23, 1981, and has since evolved from a small group of local boaters to a full-service community on False Creek. Accommodation

The clubhouse is available for private functions and offers catering services along with panoramic waterfront views. Visitor and transient moorage is available as needed, including daily, overnight, and weekly options. Moorings and Anchorage

The marina runs along False Creek on both sides of the Granville Street Bridge and can accommodate approximately 100 to 110 vessels. Slip sizes and berths vary, with common lengths ranging from approximately 30 ft to 85 ft. Member moorage is assigned annually based on seniority and a waitlist system, while guest and transient moorage is available at the Wharfinger's discretion. Facilities include pump-out services, 30A dock circuits, storage for dinghies, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards, party docks with BBQs, laundry, and showers. Clubhouse Features

The clubhouse, designed by Bing Thom, features a panoramic lounge and a wrap-around patio. Amenities include a bar and dining area, big-screen TVs, a dance floor, a pool table, outdoor seating with fire pits and BBQs, seasonal heating, and catering services. Training

FCYC promotes boating skills and safety through member-run learning opportunities, including a 'Learn-to-Sail' option. Practical training is incorporated into club activities, covering topics such as anchoring, trip planning, and boat maintenance. Active and Cruising members are required to undergo an annual boat safety inspection. The club provides access to stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, and a Folkboat for member use. Racing

Cruising

The club maintains an active cruising calendar, with member-organized weekend and longer cruises to regional destinations including the Gulf Islands, San Juans, and Desolation Sound. FCYC also has an outstation at Bowen Island and a program of approved cruising stations along the coast. Active and Cruising members can benefit from a transient moorage reimbursement program. Social Activities

Year-round social programming includes regular Member Nights, themed parties, live music, dancing, sports nights, wine tastings, BBQs, potlucks, dinghy races, and signature events such as Sailpast and the Fishing Derby.
