Sailing Programme

The club runs an annual calendar of on-the-water activities focused on cruising and month-by-month member events. These include shakedown cruises, regular cruises to local destinations such as Captain Pat’s, Dennis Point, Coles Point Plantation, Solomons Island Yacht Club, and Leonardtown Wharf, as well as PRYCA float-ins, season opener, Flag Raising & Blessing of the Fleet, membership meeting events, and other organized cruises and flotillas. Training Opportunities

The club’s event schedules list occasional Boating Safety Classes, which are indicated as 'Boating Safety Class' or TBD in published event calendars. However, the club website does not identify CYC as an RYA training centre, and no RYA centre designation was found on the club website or the general Corinthian Yacht Club Wikipedia page. Club Events

Member Experience

The club offers a Community Membership category for individuals who do not own boats. This membership provides access to the pool, clubhouse, grounds, and events, and allows for committee service (but not voting, holding office, or leasing permanent docks). Community members may launch kayaks or canoes from the ramp, use empty water slips for day visits (with overnight stays at transient rates), and are invited to sample club events. Prospective members must submit a membership application signed by two active member sponsors, which is then posted, references checked, and voted on by the Board before induction. Facilities

The club's facilities encompass over 21 acres of waterfront on Smith and Jutland creeks. Amenities include a clubhouse with a commercial kitchen and meeting/dining area, five cottages, covered docks and open docks, a boat ramp, dinghy/kayak racks, and a swimming pool (seasonal). The clubhouse also features three guest rooms, a fish-cleaning station, bathhouses, laundry facilities, picnic/grilling areas, dock boxes, and member Wi-Fi. Dining Options

The clubhouse includes a commercial kitchen where members regularly hold potlucks, cookouts, and themed dinners. The club calendar features social dining events such as crab feasts, oyster roasts, and hosted dinners, utilizing the Bean Room and other clubhouse rooms for member events and rentals. Membership Information

Membership categories include Active membership with full privileges and Community membership with limited privileges. Active membership dues are $1,000 per year (billed quarterly), while Community membership dues are $700 per year (billed semi-annually) with a one-year minimum. An application processing fee is required, and an initiation fee for Active membership has been suspended for 2025. Basin and slip fees are charged based on slip type and length. Applications require two active-member sponsors, posting, reference checks, and a Board vote. Reciprocal Club Network

CYC is an active member of the Potomac River Yacht Clubs Association (PRYCA) and the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Clubs Association (CBYCA). The club offers a reciprocal yacht club transient slip discount of 25% for reciprocal yacht clubs. More details are available on the club's website.

Seasonal Operations

The pool is seasonal, open from Memorial Day through the end of September. The club operates a seasonal events calendar that includes a spring season opener and pool opening in late spring, with cruises and events scheduled throughout the summer and fall. Venue Hire

The club offers rooms and event spaces for rental to members and guests. Rental rates include the Bean Room at $200, with set rates for clubhouse guest rooms and meeting rooms. Cottage and short-term rental rates are published in the dues/rental schedule. Social Activities

Regular social programming includes monthly membership meetings with themed events, potlucks, cookouts, impromptu game nights, crab feasts, oyster roasts, and business after-hours events. Access Policy

Transient visitors may reserve slips at posted rates. Prospective members are invited to visit events and must submit a written application signed by two active-member sponsors. Applications are posted, references checked, and voted on by the Board. Community members have restricted privileges and are limited in number.
