The Casino de Salamanca, founded on 4 October 1858 as the Sociedad de Recreo, merged with the Casino de Recreo in 1864 to form the present Casino de Salamanca. Historically known for its intellectual tertulias, notably circles linked to Miguel de Unamuno, it has evolved into a 'casino cultural' hosting exhibitions, concerts, and awards.
