Balboa Bay Club

History

Founded as the Balboa Bay Club in 1948, the property has expanded into the Balboa Bay Resort complex, which opened to the public in 2003. The private Balboa Bay Club remains members-only and occupies approximately 15 waterfront acres, historically including a private marina, beach, pools, and club facilities. Ownership and structural changes have occurred over the decades, with notable owners including Jack Wrather and William Ray. Sailing Activities

The club offers a variety of sailing activities, including kayaks, stand-up paddleboards (SUP), canoes, Duffy electric boat rentals, and private yacht/charter options. Moorage Options

The private Balboa Bay Marina provides member slips, with approximately 130 slips available for lease, accommodating vessels sized roughly 20 to 100 feet. The club includes a private beach and lawn, a waterfront heated pool with a poolside bar, and a fully equipped fitness center. Members can participate in group fitness classes, enjoy 17,000 square feet of spa facilities, and utilize event and meeting spaces.
