About

The club was founded on 7 January 1886 by ten students of the Königliche Technische Hochschule zu Charlottenburg. It has a long tradition of club-owned ships and high-seas voyages, with notable vessels such as the Matador, Prosit series, and Walross series. Sailing Programme

The club offers day and weekend sailing on the Havel with both jollen and keelboats. Training sails are conducted on the Prosit IV (a training/pleasure yacht) and the Walross bluewater yachts. The club organizes regular regattas, including the Havel Klassik, Max-Oertz-Preis, and Fuxjagd, and participates in regional and national regattas. Training Opportunities

Training at the club is structured and includes regular jollen training on weekends, intensive training weekends, and boat-specific training on the Prosit IV and other keelboats. Member Experience

Members of the club have access to club-owned boats, including jollen, keelboats, and the Prosit IV and Walross IV, without the need to own their own boats. Members can take boats after completing the required internal qualifications and obtaining the SBF Binnen to skipper. Newcomers can arrange Schnuppersegeln with the Ausbildungsleiter, while juniors can enjoy a one-year reduced trial membership. Facilities

The club's facilities include the Seglerhaus and a waterfront site at Scharfe Lanke 57 in Berlin-Spandau. The historic timber clubhouse features a large event hall, in-house catering, a library, guest rooms, and a small student dorm. The grounds include two boat piers with water and electric access, a slip ramp, mast and boat cranes, a large boat shed/workshop (Eishaus), a lawn, a pavilion, and a firepit. Membership Information

Ordinary membership is available for students of universities and Fachhochschulen, while non-students can join as extraordinary members. A Juniormitgliedschaft (one-year trial) is offered at €12.50 per month, transitioning to an active membership contribution of €25 per month thereafter. Joining typically involves contacting the Ausbildungsleiter and attending guest sails or events. Seasonal Operations

Access Policy

Membership is open to students as ordinary members and to non-students as extraordinary members. Guests may attend Schnuppersegeln and events. To skipper club boats, members are expected to hold or prepare for the SBF Binnen and pass the club's internal Jollenführer where required. The club does not have a formal centralized crew-matching platform. Members typically arrange sails among themselves using the club calendar, event signups, and regular crewabende.
